My role: Art Director, Illustrator, Lead Designer, Lead Developer
Inspired by Japanese ink painting, I built NWNatural.com around digital landscapes of the rain-lashed Pacific Northwest. I love when a website that needs only to be grimly functional can also have a delicate and transcendent beauty. This fits with my guiding design principle: functional is beautiful. I don’t apply “beauty” post-manufacture, like glitter paint. Beauty runs all the way down into my code.
